How to Plant Ginseng Seeds

Ginseng seed planting time

The best time to plant ginseng is from mid-April to early June each year, because the temperature at this time can be maintained above 5 degrees, and the light and humidity are relatively suitable, which is conducive to the vigorous growth of ginseng. When planting ginseng, the specific sowing time needs to be determined according to local weather conditions.

Ginseng Seed Planting Method

1. Prepare the soil

Ginseng grows best in soil rich in humus. When planting ginseng, you need to choose yellow clay or active loess with a pH between 4.6-5.8. If you plant it at home, you can just mix humus soil and fine sand.

2. Germination treatment

Ginseng seeds need to be germinated in advance. They can be soaked in clean water for 48 hours to allow the seeds to fully absorb water. Then put the processed seeds in a container filled with soil and place it in a warm environment. The seeds will open in about 1 to 3 months and can then be sown.

3. Sowing method

Plant the opened ginseng in a flowerpot, not too deep, about 5 cm is enough. Water it appropriately to keep the soil slightly moist. After sowing, be careful to avoid sunlight.

Precautions for daily management of ginseng

After ginseng grows out, it should be placed in a cool, well-ventilated environment to avoid exposure to strong sunlight. Also, pay attention to controlling the amount of watering. It is a plant that likes moisture but is not tolerant to waterlogging. Water it in moderation at ordinary times, and remember not to allow water to accumulate.
