How to propagate water fig

There are two main ways to propagate water fig, namely cutting propagation and division propagation. However, the most commonly used method is cutting propagation. This method is relatively simple to operate and has the highest survival rate. Relatively speaking, it is simpler and more practical than division propagation.

Common propagation methods of water fig

1. Cutting propagation of water banyan

The most common method of propagation for water fig is cuttings, which is also the easiest method to operate. It is usually carried out from May to August each year. The stem tips of the plant need to be used as materials for cuttings, so that the survival rate is relatively high. The selected stem tips must then be disinfected and can be cut after drying.

When taking cuttings of water fig, you need to prepare a suitable grass tank in advance and cover it with a layer of bottom sand. In the early stage of cuttings, you need to increase the light. After the cuttings take root, you need to do daily maintenance. If conditions are sufficient, you need to place it in a culture medium for cultivation and reproduction.

2. Water Ficus microcarpa division propagation

Water fig can also be propagated by division. You need to break off the stems and leaves of the plant and keep the roots at the bottom of the plant. Plant the removed stems and leaves in different grass tanks at 1 cm each, and cover the newly planted plants with a layer of bottom sand, which will help fix the roots.
