Is growing vanilla profitable?

Vanilla is a common spice plant that can be used to make essential oils or cosmetics. It has the functions of beautifying the skin, regulating qi and improving eyesight. The market demand for it is very large and the price is relatively stable. As long as it is planted properly, it is very profitable.

Profits and Benefits of Growing Vanilla

Under normal maintenance, the yield of vanilla per mu is about 2,000-3,000 kilograms, and the market price is stable at around 15-20 yuan per catty. After deducting costs, at least 50,000 to 60,000 yuan can be profited per mu. If sold as potted plants, the profit will be even greater.

High-yield cultivation techniques for vanilla

1. Select the site and apply fertilizer

Vanilla has strong adaptability to soil, but if you want to achieve high yields, it is best to choose a plot with good drainage and deep soil for planting, and apply sufficient base fertilizer, so that the yield of the vanilla will be higher.

2. Land preparation and sowing

Vanilla can be sown in mid-to-late October every year. Before sowing, the soil should be made into strips and furrows, and the planting distance should be controlled at about 15-20 cm. The soil should be pressed down after sowing.

3. Field management

Vanilla needs to be thinned out after germination. During the growth period, it needs to be shoveled and weeded three times. The distance between seedlings should be controlled at about 4-6 cm. Pay attention to the prevention and control of diseases and pests in the later stage.
