The growing environment and local conditions of grapes

Grape growing environment and conditions

Grapes were originally distributed in the United States, but they have been introduced for cultivation in Fuzhou, Fujian and Qingdao, Shandong, China. This shows that the temperature in most parts of China is suitable for the growth of grapes. They are mainly grown in Fuzhou, Fujian, Changde, Hunan, and Qingdao, Shandong.

Grape growing conditions

Grapes can be planted on hillsides and flat land. Sandy loam with good ventilation, drainage, fertility and looseness is the most suitable. Grapes are suitable for growing in ventilated areas with moderate dryness and wetness. They require higher air humidity during germination and flowering, but too much water can easily cause diseases.

Grapes should be planted in a place that is sheltered from the wind and facing the sun. Grape vines are afraid of wind. If there is a strong wind, the trellis will easily fall down and the yield will decrease. Grapes are not suitable for planting in shaded areas. Insufficient light can easily make the vines slender and also affect the normal photosynthesis of the leaves. When the temperature is high in summer, appropriate shading should be provided.

Grape growing temperature

Grapes prefer a warm environment, and the monthly average temperature required during the growing period is above 10 degrees. There are differences due to different varieties. They are generally cultivated between 20 and 51 degrees north latitude in the northern hemisphere.

The growth process of grapes

When spring comes, all things come back to life. The grape trees also begin to sprout and grow tender green buds. After a few days, the leaves turn green. After a period of care, the green leaves gradually grow lush, and the grape trees become full of emerald green, with the emerald green leaves covering the entire grape tree.

Grapes begin to bloom around April, with clusters of small white flowers. As time goes by, the small flowers gradually fade away and become clusters of green fruits the size of mung beans. In summer, the fruits will slowly grow larger and become green fruits the size of cherries.

Grape planting time and method

When choosing the time to cultivate grapes, you can try to choose clear and windless weather according to the local climate characteristics. Generally, we will choose March or September, because the temperature and humidity in these two seasons are more suitable for grape germination, and the survival rate is relatively high.

After deep plowing, ridge making is required and then covered with plastic film. Generally speaking, about 10 cm is the best density. Try not to plant too densely, as this will affect future management and harvesting. Because grape fruits grow faster, they will thrive after a period of time.
