The suitable growth temperature is between 20-25 degrees. Once it exceeds 30 degrees, the growth is inhibited. Dang Shen has strong cold resistance and will not freeze to death at minus 28 degrees and can still maintain vitality.

2. Lighting

Ginseng has strict requirements on light. The light required for the early growth stage and plants over two years old is different. Seedlings like shade, while mature plants like light. The light intensity in the seedling stage is 15% to 20%, while mature plants require a lot of light.

3. Moisture

Ginseng prefers a humid environment but is not tolerant to waterlogging. Generally, the best environment is when the annual precipitation is 500 to 1200 mm and the relative humidity of the air is around 70 percent.

4. Soil

Ginseng has a wide adaptability to soil and prefers to be planted in sandy loam with deep soil layer, rich in humus, loose, fertile and well-drained. It should avoid repeated cropping.

The growing environment of ginseng

Ginseng is suitable for growing in a warm, humid, cool and sunny environment. It is not resistant to direct sunlight, but also needs appropriate light. Ginseng Planting Method

1. Seed treatment

Choose plump Codonopsis seeds and soak them in 40-degree warm water in advance until the water temperature is not hot. Put the seeds into a gauze bag, rinse them with clean water about 3 times, and then place them on a pile of sand for germination. Usually, you can sow them after waiting for about 7 days.

2. Planting time and density

It usually takes about a year for ginseng to be described, and then it is transplanted in mid-March to early April in spring, or mid-October to early November in autumn. When transplanting, the distance should be controlled. The density can be planted at a row spacing of 30 cm and a plant spacing of 10-15 cm.

3. Watering and fertilizing

When ginseng is planted, water it in time to promote root growth. After the seedlings are established and survive, reduce watering. If there is continuous rainy weather, drain the water in time to avoid excessive water accumulation. When applying fertilizer in the later stage of growth, you can choose to apply manure and urine water when the seedlings grow to 15 cm.
