Xinlimei radish likes a cool environment and has a greater demand for sunlight. Therefore, it is mostly planted in late September, when the temperature is neither high nor low, which is suitable for the growth of Xinlimei radish.

How to plant Xinlimei radish

1. Cultivation conditions

Xinlimei radish has certain requirements for the soil. It is best to choose sandy soil that retains water and fertilizer, has a deep soil layer, is rich in humus, has normal drainage and is slightly acidic. This can promote the growth of radish, thereby improving the quality and yield of radish.

2. Sowing conditions

After selecting a good planting site, you must first prepare the land and plow it deeply to a depth of about 35 cm. After exposing it to the sun, apply enough farmyard manure. Generally, hole sowing is used. First, control the sowing density and dig holes. Put 2 to 3 seeds in each hole, then water it thoroughly, spray an appropriate amount of herbicide, and finally cover it with straw to keep it moist to prevent the soil from becoming compacted.

3. Post-management

After the Xinlimei radish seedlings grow true leaves, they can be thinned out. When they grow 4 true leaves, they can be thinned out again and weak and dead seedlings can be removed. When the seedlings grow 5 true leaves, they can be transplanted. After transplanting, they need to be tilled and weeded to prevent nutrient loss in the seedlings, which will affect their normal growth. When using herbicides, you need to pay attention to the dosage to prevent drug damage to the seedlings.

Things to note when planting Xinlimei radish

Xinlimei radish has a very high demand for water and is not drought-tolerant. The soil needs to be moist when planting, especially sufficient water needs to be ensured after sowing. After the seedlings emerge, they need to be watered appropriately to promote the growth of fleshy roots. In addition, less fertilizer is needed during the seedling stage, and top dressing should be done after the seedlings are established. Fertilization can be carried out together with weeding and soiling. Fertilization should be done at least 4 times during the growth period.
