Cherry tomato planting time and method

Cherry tomato planting time

Cherry tomatoes prefer a warm environment, and the suitable germination temperature is between 23-28 degrees, so they are suitable for planting in spring and autumn, the specific time is around February to June or August to October.

If you maintain it in a greenhouse, you can plant at any time. When planting in the north, you must pay attention to the temperature and avoid planting when the temperature changes greatly.

How to grow cherry tomatoes

1. Prepare the substrate: Cherry tomatoes are suitable for planting in loose, fertile, well-drained soil. They should not be planted in too sticky soil, which is not conducive to root breathing. In addition, some decomposed fertilizer should be applied to the substrate to improve soil fertility.

2. Purchase seeds: Before planting cherry tomatoes, you must select seeds of good quality. Try to choose seeds with strong resistance and vigorous vitality. Do not be greedy and buy inferior seeds, as this will directly affect the germination rate.

3. Seed germination: After selecting the seeds, you can soak them in potassium permanganate solution for 10 minutes. After taking them out, rinse them several times with clean water, and then wrap them with moist gauze. Wait until the seeds turn white and you can plant them.

4. Planting: Spread the germinated seeds evenly on the soil and cover them with a thin layer of nutrient soil. If the ambient temperature is low, cover them with a layer of straw to keep them moist.

Tips for planting small tomatoes

Cherry tomatoes like a warm and humid environment. The temperature during maintenance should be around 25 degrees. If the soil is dry, water it in time to keep the soil moist. In addition, it is a sun-loving plant and sufficient light should be provided during growth.
