The seeds of Shanghai Qing usually grow inside its fruit. During the plant's growth cycle, select the healthiest plants with the most fruits for seed preservation. The seeds can only be collected after the fruit is fully ripe.

When the fruit of the bok choy is fully grown and ripe, pick it and dry it, then scrub the peel and pulp clean to get the seeds. Be sure to clean them carefully before use.

Seed propagation of Shanghai Green

The Shanghai Green plant can be propagated by seeds and can be sown directly. The best sowing time is in spring from February to March, and in autumn from September to October. If properly maintained, it will germinate in about 5 days.

1. Treat seeds and soil
