What are the cultivation methods and precautions of the fortune tree?

Growth habits of the fortune tree

The fortune tree likes high temperature, humidity and sunlight, and cannot be shaded for a long time. Therefore, it should be placed in a sunny place indoors during maintenance and management. When placed, the leaves must face the sun. In addition, every 3 to 5 days, use a watering can to spray water on the leaves once, which is conducive to photosynthesis and makes the branches and leaves more beautiful.

How to cultivate the fortune tree

Light: The money tree should be placed in a sunny place indoors. When placing it, make sure the leaves are facing the sun. It should not be kept in the shade for a long time, otherwise the branches and leaves will be twisted and deformed.

Temperature: When breeding, you should pay attention to maintaining a temperature above 15℃, and spray water on the branches and leaves frequently to increase the humidity. In late autumn and winter, you should pay attention to preventing cold and frost.

Watering: The first principle of watering the money tree is to keep it wet rather than dry. Water it more in the hot summer season and less in the winter. Water it more during the growth period and less for small newly planted plants. Under normal circumstances, water it once every 15 to 20 days.

Fertilization: The money tree requires more fertilizer than other flowers and trees. The ratio of fertilizer to soil can be one-third when repotting. During the growing period of the money tree (May to September), decomposed liquid fertilizer or flower fertilizer should be applied every 15 days to allow the tree to have deep roots and lush leaves.

Precautions for cultivating fortune trees

Newly introduced money trees do not need to be repotted in the same year to prevent the tree from changing shape. The appropriate season for repotting is spring, or you can repot in July or August when the plant is in a semi-dormant state during the high temperature period.

The money tree has very strict requirements on the potting soil. The potting soil should be slightly moist and well-drained. The potting soil can be acidic sandy loam containing humus.
