How long is the growing cycle of rapeseed?

Introduction to Rapeseed Growth

Rapeseed is a biennial crop. It is mainly distributed in Anhui, Henan, Sichuan and other places in my country. It generally grows in places with relatively humid climates and is planted in both the south and the north.

Rapeseed growth cycle

Rapeseed is a plant that is sensitive to light and temperature. Only under suitable light and temperature conditions can rapeseed successfully complete its growth cycle. The growth period of spring rapeseed is 85-130 days, and the growth period of winter rapeseed is 160-290 days.

Rapeseed growth rate

The seedling stage of rapeseed is from seedling emergence to bud formation. The seedling stage of winter rapeseed is 120 days. The bud formation to the beginning of flowering is the bud and stalk stage. At this time, vegetative growth and reproductive growth take place simultaneously, which takes 25-30 days. The flowering period is divided into the initial flowering period, the peak flowering period, and the final flowering period. From the final flowering to the grain maturity, it is divided into the green maturity period, the yellow maturity period and the fully mature period.

Rapeseed Growth Cycle Management

The yield of rapeseed per mu is about 150 kilograms. Some good varieties and reasonable management techniques can increase the yield. Some excellent varieties can achieve an average yield of more than 200 kilograms per mu.

Rapeseed is a shallow-root crop with well-developed fibrous roots distributed in the tillage layer. It has strong regeneration ability and is suitable for seedling cultivation and transplanting. Its vegetative growth period is divided into three stages: germination, seedling and rosette.

Temperature management: Rapeseed germinates fastest when the average daily temperature is 15-18℃. Its optimum growth temperature is between 20-25℃. When the temperature is above 12℃, the leaves of rapeseed seedlings are strong and the root system can grow very well.

Fertilization management: To achieve high yields of rapeseed, it is necessary to use fertilizers reasonably. In addition to applying sufficient base fertilizer, appropriate topdressing is also required. Before winter, when the temperature is higher, the rapeseed seedlings should be fertilized frequently. Early topdressing promotes the growth of rapeseed, so that the rapeseed can reach the "opening" state before winter.
