How to grow Boston fern?

1. Breeding methods

1. Potting soil: When growing Boston ferns at home, the choice of potting soil is very important. You can mix leaf mold, river sand, and garden soil. It must be breathable and drainable. The pot can be changed once every other year in the spring.

2. Diffused light: Boston fern likes to grow in a semi-shaded environment. It is best to keep it in a place with diffused light. It should not be exposed to direct light for a long time and should be protected from direct sunlight, otherwise the leaves will curl and turn yellow.

3. Watering and moisturizing: It has very strict requirements on water. It should be kept moist through daily watering and watered regularly during the growing period. It can be watered once or twice a day in summer, but watering must be controlled in winter.

4. Apply fertilizer: Its roots are very fragile and sensitive, so it is easily injured, so be careful when applying fertilizer. During cultivation, apply well-rotted base fertilizer and apply dilute liquid fertilizer in the later stage.

5. Suitable temperature: It likes to grow in a warm environment. For its growth, the suitable temperature should be kept at around 15-25℃. The temperature in winter is relatively low, so you should keep warm. The temperature for wintering should not be lower than 5 degrees Celsius to avoid frostbite and yellow leaves.

2. How to breed

The most common method of propagation of Boston fern is division, which can be carried out in spring, summer and autumn.
