The growing soil for potted jasmine should be rich in organic matter and have good water retention and air permeability. This is suitable for growing jasmine and will also make it more convenient to change the soil later.

Potted jasmine can be grown with ordinary soil orchid, but the soil needs to be disinfected and acidified before cultivation. You can spray some ferrous sulfate to improve the soil structure. If you don’t have time, you can also directly buy slightly acidic nutrient soil.

How to prepare soil for potted jasmine

1. Ordinary soil cultivation method

Topsoil, compost and fine sand are mixed in the ratio of 4:4:2, then add garden soil, leaf mold, fine sand or fine coal slag particles in the ratio of 4:4:2/3, and mix in 0.1% sulfur powder.

2. Garden soil configuration

If garden soil, leaf mold and cake fertilizer are not mixed in the ratio of 4:5:1, add a little bone meal as base fertilizer when potting. You can also mix garden soil, compost soil, river sand or rice husk ash in the ratio of 4:4:2, and add fully decomposed cake fertilizer powder and chicken and duck manure as base fertilizer.

1. When repotting jasmine, be sure to use loose soil with strong drainage and sufficient fertility. The pH value should be acidic. Only in such a soil environment can it grow vigorously.
2. When preparing the soil, you can mix sand, peat soil, and humus soil. It is best to add an appropriate amount of organic fertilizer. The fertility will be sufficient and the growth will be more vigorous. Potted plants usually need to be repotted once every one or two years, so that the soil is suitable and there is more room for growth.
