Can durian be grown in Guangxi?

Durian can be grown in Guangxi, but it is not suitable for cultivation. Durian is a pure tropical crop. The phenological characteristics of durian can be grown in areas with an average daily temperature of more than 22°C and no frost. It can be developed in parts of Hainan Province and Yunnan Province in China.

Because durian needs a high temperature climate all year round to grow and bear fruit, even in the equatorial region, at altitudes above 600m, durian cannot be planted or will not bear fruit due to the drop in temperature. Now the main durian growing areas are the Philippines, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Vietnam, Myanmar and other countries, and there are also small amounts planted in Hainan, China.

Durian planting technology in Guangxi

1. Lighting

It also has relatively high requirements for light because it is a tropical crop. Regardless of whether it is potted or not, it needs to be placed in a place with sufficient light. Otherwise, its growth will become weak and it will not bear fruit.

2. Temperature

Specifically, it is best to keep the temperature above 22 degrees so that it will grow vigorously. In spring, it is best to use healthy and full seeds and choose places with deep and loose soil as planting sites. The row spacing should be controlled at about 20 centimeters. From sowing to seedlings, it usually only takes two to seventy days.

3. Watering

During the growth period, durian needs to be provided with sufficient water to keep the soil in the pot slightly moist, but of course water cannot accumulate.

4. Soil

If it is a potted durian, the soil requirements are relatively high. The most important requirement is nutrition. In addition, the soil needs to have good air permeability and drainage.
