How to grow Oshima cherry blossoms

How to grow Oshima cherry blossoms

1. Soil:

Oshima cherry is suitable for cultivation in clay soil and sandy soil rich in organic matter (pH 5.5 to 6.5). Do not use dry soil for cultivation.

2. Lighting:

Oshima cherry is a strong sun-loving tree species and is light-loving. When cultivating it, every tree must be able to receive sunlight, which can promote the growth rate of Oshima cherry.

3. Watering:

The root system of Oshima cherry is shallow, and too much water can easily cause root rot. The soil cannot be too wet or waterlogged, otherwise it will cause root rot and affect flowering. Generally, watering once every 2-3 months is sufficient.

4. Fertilization:

Oshima cherry trees need to be fertilized twice a year, mainly with acidic fertilizers. Fertilization is required once in spring and winter, mainly with organic fertilizer; fertilization is required once after the flowers fall, with fertilizers such as ferrous sulfate and superphosphate.

5. Pest and disease control:

1. Diseases: The main diseases of Oshima cherry are gummosis and root nodule. They will harm the roots of Oshima cherry trees, causing them to be unable to grow normally. When the disease is discovered, the tumors at the roots of the diseased trees can be removed, and the soil can be disinfected to improve the soil environment.

2. Pests: The main pests of Oshima cherry are aphids and red spiders, which will suck the sap of the leaves and affect the normal development and growth of the plants. They can be prevented and controlled by spraying 800~1000 times of 90% dichlorodiphenyltrichloroethane solution 1-2 times, which can effectively control their damage.
