Wild Cymbidium Orchid Growth Environment

Wild Cymbidium is more suitable for growing in a humid environment. When growing, it needs sufficient sunlight, and the planting soil must be loose and well-drained. Its origin is in southern Shaanxi, southern Gansu, Anhui and other regions of my country, and it is also widely distributed in India.

Cymbidium Orchid Growth Conditions

Wild Cymbidium orchids generally grow in relatively humid areas. When growing, they need sufficient sunlight and loose, fertile, breathable and well-drained soil. They need to be disinfected before planting.

Cymbidium growth temperature

When caring for wild Cymbidium orchids, the temperature needs to be kept between 15-25 degrees. The temperature cannot exceed 38 degrees in summer and cannot be lower than minus 5 degrees in winter, otherwise it will be frostbite.

Wild Cymbidium orchid growth process

Wild Cymbidium orchids generally sprout in May and June each year, and the autumn buds emerge around July. They need a slow growth period of about 20 days after emerging from the ground. July and August are the leaf expansion period, July to October is the leaf extension period, and November to February of the following year is the dormant period.

Cymbidium orchid planting time and method

Wild Cymbidium orchids are generally planted by division, and are planted in March-April or September-October each year. Strong seedlings that have been planted for 2-3 years are needed. When planting, loose, fertile, and well-drained soil is usually needed. Watering and fertilizing should be carried out in time during maintenance.
