Beet growing conditions

Beet is a relatively cold-resistant crop, but it prefers a warm growing environment. When caring for it, it needs sufficient sunlight so that it can grow better, and it also needs a good ventilation environment.

Beet growing temperature

Beet is highly adaptable to environmental conditions. Seeds can begin to germinate at 4-5 degrees, but the speed is slow. They will germinate well at 22-25 degrees. The average daily temperature is 14-16 degrees and the growth rate is fastest. It can grow at higher or lower temperatures.

The growth process of beets

The growth stage of beets can be divided into four periods, from emergence to the end of root peeling. During this period, the tubers grow slowly and belong to the seedling stage. Next is the rapid growth period of leaves. At this time, the functional organs of the aboveground parts grow rapidly. Then there is the tuber and sugar growth period, which lasts about 40 days. Finally, there is the sugar accumulation period.

When and how to plant beets

The planting time of beets is different due to different climates. They are generally planted in April. They require fertile and loose soil with certain drainage. They need a suitable temperature environment and sufficient sunlight during maintenance so that they can grow better.
