What are the cultivation methods and precautions of Yunsong?

Yunsong Introduction

Yunsong is also known as Yunpianzhu, Yunzhu, Asparagus Grass, Songshan Grass, and Wenzhu. It is a plant of the Liliaceae family and Asparagus genus. It has creeping stems that can climb upward, 200 to 300 cm high, slightly fleshy roots, small white flowers, spherical berries, purple-black, containing 1 to 3 seeds.

Yunsong breeding method

Cloud pine likes warm, sunny and dry environment. It is not tolerant to water and humidity. It is suitable for planting in loose, fertile, well-drained, organic-rich and slightly acidic sandy soil. Watering during the growth period should be appropriate and reasonable. Do not water too much. Fertilization can be done with thin fertilizer and small amount of fertilizer. It is best to maintain it in a dry, ventilated and sunny place.

Watering method

Do not water the cloud pine excessively to avoid water accumulation. Water it once a day in spring and autumn, and water it in the morning and evening in summer. Spray water appropriately to keep it moist. Soil moisture should be maintained between 15%-30%. Watering should also be done according to local weather changes.

Fertilization method

The principle of fertilizing Yunsong is to apply thin fertilizer in small amounts. You can use fully decomposed cake fertilizer. Apply spring fertilizer every 10 days 2-3 months before germination. The best concentration is 15%. In July and August, when the weather is hot, it is advisable to apply 10% dilute fertilizer water every half a month. It can be applied in the morning and evening. September is the fastest growth stage, and the concentration of autumn fertilizer can be increased to about 25%, and fertilization should be stopped at the end of October.

Pruning methods

The cloud pine grows densely in spring and autumn, and many branches will appear, so the branches and leaves need to be pruned in time, and those branches can be moved to other pots for planting.

Precautions for Yunsong cultivation

1. Cloud pine likes an environment with plenty of sunlight. Potted plants need to be placed in a sunny place for maintenance. 1-2 year old seedlings need shade during the hot summer noons, but can receive plenty of sunlight at other times.

2. Yunsong likes slightly acidic sandy soil with good drainage, looseness, fertility and rich in organic matter. You can mix leaf mold, yellow soil and sandy soil. The Yunsong pot soil should not be alkaline, otherwise the leaves will turn yellow and fall off, affecting the overall growth.

3. If you plant the cloud pine in a flowerpot, you should change the soil every three years. When changing the soil, you can cut off the old roots. The best time to change the soil is in February and September each year.
