How to cultivate lotus

Lotus growing conditions

The best growing environment for lotus is hot and humid, with plenty of sunshine and no strong wind. The suitable temperature for growth is 20℃~30℃. The lakes and ponds for growth require deep soil, slow water flow, no serious pollution, and the water depth should not exceed 150 cm. It is a strong sun-loving flower and the daily light time must be maintained for more than 10 hours.

How to grow lotus

Soak the opened lotus seeds in water and they will germinate in a week. Change the water frequently and they can be transplanted in about half a month. When transplanting, be sure to expose the lotus leaves and the water layer should not be too deep. Just maintain them normally.

Watering the lotus

The temperature is higher in summer, and it is the peak season for lotus growth. The demand for water will also increase at this time, so you must replenish water in time in summer. During the rainy season, you must pay attention to the fact that the accumulated water cannot exceed the upright leaves, and you must take reasonable drainage measures in time.

Lotus Fertilization

Lotus likes fertilizer, but don't apply too much fertilizer. If you apply too much fertilizer, it will burn the plant. It has high requirements for fertilizer in summer. It is best to apply fertilizer every 15-20 days.

Prevention and control of lotus diseases and insect pests

1. Rot disease: When the lotus leaves are soaked in water for a long time, the rot disease will occur more seriously. Care should be taken not to make the water layer too deep. Carbendazim can be sprayed for prevention and control.

2. Brown spot disease: Brown spots will appear on the leaves of lotus, which will get worse during the rainy season. The diseased leaves should be removed in time. If the disease is serious, you can spray it with carbendazim or mancozeb solution.

How to grow lotus at home

1. When raising lotus at home, it is recommended to use some pond mud or field mud with high nutrient content for cultivation, give it at least 4 hours of light a day, and try to give it a higher temperature, preferably between 22-35℃.

2. When caring for lotus, water it appropriately and the water level should not be too high. In the rainy season, take drainage measures in time. Fertilize once every 15-20 days during the growth period. Do not apply too much fertilizer. Also pay attention to disease prevention and control.

Lotus maintenance precautions

When caring for lotus, you should pay attention to choosing a deep pot with a diameter of about 60 to 80 cm so that its roots can stretch and breathe, do a good job of disease and pest control, remove diseased leaves in time, and spray pesticides and insecticides regularly to ensure the healthy growth of lotus.
