Tips for planting jade lotus leaves

Tips for planting jade lotus leaves

Break the leaves

The leaves of the jade lotus are not only uniquely curved, but also very tough. Moreover, the leaves are often arranged compactly and are not easy to break off.

At this time, you just need to cut off the water and leave it dry for a while, the leaves will become very obedient. You just need to bend them and they will fall off, allowing you to use them at your will!

Leaf Spread

Spread the intact mature leaves of the Te Yu Lian flatly on moist sand, with the leaf surface facing up and the back of the leaf facing down. There is no need to cover them with soil, just place them in a cool place.

Mother leaf treatment

When planting jade lotus leaves, after the seedlings grow out, the mother leaves will dry up and turn black until they rot and fall off. However, the genes of the Te Yu Lian are too powerful, and the leaves are of course also very powerful, so even if they have turned black, they will still stick to the seedlings.

At this time, just put it in a dry place, let it air dry, gently remove the mother leaves with tweezers, and wait for the seedlings to take root.

Water and fertilizer management

After about 10 days of planting jade lotus leaves, small leaf clusters and new roots will grow from the base of the leaves. Bury the roots in the soil, expose it to more sunlight, water and fertilize it appropriately, and it will gradually grow into a thriving new plant.
