How to fertilize peony

How to fertilize peony

1. Time of fertilization

It is best to fertilize peonies three times a year. The first time should be applied about half a month before flowering, mainly with phosphorus fertilizer, to ensure that it has enough nutrients when flowering; the second time of fertilization is applied after flowering. At this time, after it has bloomed, a lot of nutrients have been consumed. If it is not fertilized, it will affect its growth. The last fertilization should be done before winter, preferably with compost, to ensure that the plant blooms normally next year.

2. Fertilizer selection

The base fertilizer can be compost or manure. Apply phosphorus fertilizer before flowering; apply compound fertilizer after flowering; apply compost before winter.
