How to Plant Ranunculus Seeds

1. Seed harvesting

To choose seeds well, you must first identify a mother plant and then strengthen its management. After the flowers bloom, artificial pollination is required. Use a brush as a tool to apply pollen. Afterwards, special attention should be paid to the fertilizer and water management of the mother plant, and any diseases and pests should be treated in a timely manner. Only in this way can full seeds grow. After the seeds have developed, they can be picked and placed in a paper bag in a ventilated, dry place.

2. Time selection

Best in autumn, usually in October. It is best to sow after the temperature drops to 20 degrees, when the chance of survival is high. However, the time may vary slightly depending on the region.

3. Seed processing

Before sowing, the seeds must be processed. Generally speaking, the low temperature germination method is used. Wrap the seeds in gauze, place them in cold water for a whole day, and then refrigerate them in a refrigerator at eight to ten degrees.

4. Soil selection

It is best to have loose, fertile and acidic soil. You can mix garden soil, sandy soil, and animal manure in a ratio of about five to three to one.

5. Sowing and subsequent maintenance

After the seeds are processed, they can be sown in about ten days. The seeds should be spread evenly on the surface of the soil. After that, you need to control the temperature to around fifteen to twenty degrees. In addition, humidity must be ensured. The light should not be too strong.
