How to deal with hyacinth after flowering

How to deal with hyacinth after flowering

1. Hydroponic treatment method

After the hydroponic plants have finished flowering, they can continue to be maintained for a period of time. By June, all the stems and leaves need to be removed, leaving only the bulbs of the plant.

Place the bulbs in a cool place to dry out, making sure they are not exposed to the sun. After drying, wrap the bulbs with newspaper and put them in the refrigerator. The low temperature environment can promote the germination of the bulbs. The temperature cannot be too high, otherwise the bulbs will rot.

After preservation, you can continue to cultivate the bulbs according to the hydroponic method of bulbs in the spring of the second year. As long as they are properly maintained, the bulbs will bloom in the second year.

2. Soil culture treatment method

After the soil-grown plants have finished flowering, wait for them to dry up naturally and then place them in a cool place. Wait until the second year to water and fertilize and cultivate the plants again.

Or you can wait for the plant to dry up naturally, dig out the bulb, remove the stems and leaves, leaving only the bulb, wrap it in newspaper, and place it in a cool place. Wait until the weather warms up the following year, then you can grow it in water or soil.

3. Notes

Plants planted with different planting methods require different treatment methods, but as long as the treatment method is correct, they can bloom in the second year. However, this method can only be used once, because the bulbs of the plants will age in the third year and will not continue to bloom no matter how they are cared for.
