How to grow Anthurium

How to grow Anthurium

1. Breeding environment

(1) Temperature: It prefers warmth, preferably between 19 and 25 degrees. The temperature should not be lower than 13 degrees in winter and not too high in summer, not exceeding 32 degrees.

(2) Watering: Watering is required in a timely manner. In spring and summer, it is about once every one to two days; in autumn and winter, it is about once a week depending on the temperature and humidity for nine days. In summer, water should be sprayed to increase humidity.

(3) Soil: The main requirement is looseness and breathability. Specifically, you can mix it with leaf mold, pond mud, river sand and wood ash. You can also add some basal fertilizer into it.

(4) Light: There is a need, but not much. Can be placed in a place with diffuse light. When the light is strong, the shading degree is about 70%. Place in a sunny place during winter.

(5) Fertilization: About once every five to ten days during the growth period. The time is in the morning or evening.

2. Prevent and control pests and diseases

Diseases include "anthracnose" and "root rot". After discovery, the damaged leaves and branches must be cut off in time, and it is best to burn them. Then, you can spray pesticides such as thiophanate-methyl. Pests are also quite common, such as snails, aphids, etc. Snails are generally not numerous and can be captured manually; aphids can be sprayed with pesticides if they are numerous. Whether it is disease or insect, it can be prevented before it occurs by spraying fungicide once a month.

3. Repotting

After the plant has grown for a period of time, the original pot can no longer meet the requirements and there are not many nutrients in the soil, so the pot needs to be changed. After changing the pot and soil, water it thoroughly. After a week, return to normal watering. Do not fertilize within one month.
