What fertilizer is good for yew

What fertilizer is good for yew

1. What kind of fertilizer is good?

Generally, compound fertilizers or organic fertilizers containing nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium are used. The former needs to be dissolved in water before use, and pay attention to the concentration to be moderate, while the latter can be used by burying. In addition, in order to maintain the good appearance of the plant, you can also spray some foliar fertilizer on it appropriately.

2. How to apply

1. Fertilization time

When choosing potting soil, try to choose well-prepared nutrient soil. Do not apply any fertilizer within three months after purchase. Just spray it with foliar fertilizer once every 7 to 10 days. Later, when the color of the leaves begins to turn yellow-white, this is a sign of premature aging and leaf drop. At this time, we can apply some fertilizer. After that, from November to February every year, the yew is in a dormant period, so less fertilizer or no fertilizer should be applied at this time.

2. The amount of fertilizer

The amount of fertilizer required by yew is actually not large. Usually, small plants do not need fertilizer, while large plants only need a thin layer of fertilizer once every half a month. Also, when applying the fertilizer, the concentration should be thinner and the application should be more frequent.

3. Fertilization method

When applying fertilizer, try to apply it along the edge of the pot, and avoid spreading it on the roots. Then spread the fertilizer evenly and avoid piling it up.
