Spring, summer, autumn and winter, don’t forget to provide shade!

Some flower lovers do not know what kind of lighting conditions the Haworthia succulent likes, so they put the succulent directly in the sun, resulting in the leaf color becoming worse and the plant wilting. Come and see how the uncle does it!

1. Provide proper shade throughout the year

The uncle is from Shandong. He likes to grow Haworthia succulenta on the south balcony, but no matter spring, summer, autumn or winter, he always provides shade for the succulent to prevent direct sunlight.

2. Shade in spring

In the spring, the uncle will install a sunshade net on the succulent flower stand, such as an aluminum foil sunshade net with a 50% shading rate, to prevent the succulents from growing too tall or the leaves from turning gray.

Watering tips, worthy of a seasoned meat expert!

When the uncle first started raising succulents, he would often water them to death. Now he is a veteran. Come learn from his experience so that you can avoid detours!

1. Do not water the meat directly with tap water

Tap water contains chlorine, and using it directly to water the succulents is not conducive to their growth. The uncle will collect the tap water in a bucket and put it in the sun to dry for 7 days before he can safely water the succulents.

2. Do a controlled experiment

Find two flower pots of the same size, put the same soil in them, plant succulents in one pot and leave the other pot alone, pour the same amount of water in them, and place them in the same position. After 7 days, 10 days, and 14 days, turn over the soil in the pot without meat in turn to see if the soil is dry or wet. This way you will have a better idea when watering!

3. Place a tray at the bottom of the flower pot

Find a tray, the height of which should not be lower than 1/3 of the flower pot, and then spread 3 cm high river sand on the tray. The river sand should be fine, and it is best to soak it in carbendazim in advance to kill bacteria before use.

Don't cut off the hair roots

The roots of the Haworthia succulenta are radish roots, which are fleshy roots. Some flower lovers will cut off the capillary roots in addition to the thick radish roots when planting the newly bought succulents in pots. This is wrong! As long as they are healthy roots, keep them, no matter they are radish roots or capillary roots!

Flower pots with side holes have better air permeability and can better prevent root rot when used to grow succulents. Uncle recommends that if conditions permit, you should replace them with purple clay flower pots, which have the best air permeability!

Have you learned the uncle’s method?

I think what Huahua said is useful.
