What to do after lily of the valley blooms

What to do after lily of the valley blooms

1. Flowering period

Its flowers bloom for a relatively long time, and together with the fruiting period, it lasts for a full three months, from May to July.

2. Pruning

Pruning is essential because it is easy to waste the withered flowers after they fade, so we have to cut off the dead flowers and branches after they fade. At the same time, we should also pay attention to whether there are abnormal flowers and leaves on the flowers, such as those with insects or diseases. If there are any, we must clean them up in time to prevent them from spreading.

3. Temperature

When it is blooming, we usually provide it with better temperature conditions to make its flowers more beautiful and colorful, but when the flowers fade, we easily forget this problem. In fact, after flowering, it needs good growing conditions to help it resist the invasion of pests and diseases. To this end, we'd better give it a growth condition of 17-20℃, so that it can recover faster.

4. Flower fertilizer

We all know that what flowers need most is nutrients. Usually, the plants will appear weak after flowering because they have consumed the nutrients accumulated over a long period of time during flowering. In this case, we should fertilize them in time and give them more nutrients.

After pruning, you can start fertilizing it. Do not use too concentrated fertilizer, use thin fertilizer, and do not water it too much at one time to avoid hurting it. If the amount is not enough, you can increase the number of fertilization times appropriately.

5. Moisture

Because it likes moisture, we cannot let it crave water, especially after it blooms. We must meet its water requirements. Under normal conditions, we must water it and spray some water around it when necessary.
