How to grow bamboo grass

How to grow bamboo grass

1. Watering

The way to water this kind of plant is actually different from that of ordinary plants. We cannot simply nourish it when it lacks water, nor can we ignore it just because it still has some water to rely on. What we have to do is to keep its soil moist at all times, so that it will not grow slowly due to water problems, and it will be stronger after it grows out.

Generally speaking, too little water will result in few leaves and long rhizomes, but this does not mean that the stems will grow well. In addition, lack of water can cause other problems, such as leaves wilting and small growth.

2. Pruning

Generally speaking, plants need to be pruned, and the purposes of pruning are different. Some are simply for the sake of appearance, while others are to make the plants grow stronger. The purpose of bamboo grass is the latter.

The specific method of implementation is to remove the heart of the plant. Of course, this also needs to be done at a specific stage. Generally speaking, this treatment should be carried out during the young plant stage. If some of the leaves have withered and it has passed the juvenile stage, we have another method, which is to repot and re-prune the plant in the spring.

3. Lighting

Compared with other plants, it has very low requirements for light. If the light is relatively strong, their transpiration will be greatly enhanced, so the extra water loss will increase, which will easily lead to a lower survival rate. So when the light is strongest in the summer, we need to block out most of the sunlight, which is better for it.

4. Temperature

Generally, the suitable temperature for it is between 18 and 25 degrees, but when the environment does not reach this temperature, we also need to keep it at around 10 degrees Celsius. If the temperature is too low below 4 degrees Celsius, it will stop growing. If the temperature is lower, the plant will die.
