How many times does Amaryllis bloom in a year?

Open times

How many times a year it blooms depends on its variety. Generally speaking, many varieties can only bloom once, but if they are well cared for, they can bloom twice a year. However, this situation is relatively rare and requires us to spend relatively more energy. However, it is worth mentioning that some varieties can bloom three times a year, such as some types of Amaryllis.

Increase flowering times

(1) After the first flowering in May, place the plant in a well-ventilated and cool place and apply fertilizer every ten days. In addition, we also need to spray water regularly. As for sunlight, if you feel that the light is too strong or the temperature is too high, you can provide appropriate shade.

(2) If properly cared for, it will bloom a second time in July. After flowering, fertilize as in the previous step.

(3) In mid-September, move the plant indoors, control the temperature at around 13 degrees, and water it every ten days. Do not use fertilizer at this time.

(4) In mid-November, cut off all the leaves, stop watering and fertilizing, and place the plant in a dry, cool place with a temperature of around 13 degrees. At this time, the plant is in a dormant state, and the flower buds will begin to differentiate.

(5) About a month before the Spring Festival, water the plant thoroughly, place it in a well-lit area, and adjust the temperature to around 20 degrees. In this way, the plant will be able to bloom immediately between the nodes, which is the third time of flowering and can add a festive atmosphere.
