How to grow jade tree in winter

How to grow jade tree in winter

1. Transplant it indoors in time

When winter comes, as we all know, the temperature will slowly start to drop, so at this time we must move the jade plant indoors in time, and maintain the temperature at 7 to 10 degrees, so as not to freeze it.

If one day the weather outside is very warm and the sun is shining, we can move it outdoors at noon and let it enjoy the light. This will allow its leaves to carry out a certain amount of photosynthesis, so that the plant can grow better. Then wait until night and move it back into the room.

2. Control the dryness and humidity of the potting soil

In winter, the humidity of the soil also requires our attention. Generally, at this time, try to water less, let the potting soil slightly dry, and frequently spray some fine spray on its leaves, so that you can replenish water well. So generally, there is no need to water it.

3. Move to the greenhouse to keep warm

In winter, some people will choose to move it indoors, but sometimes the temperature is difficult to control, so if conditions permit, you can move it into a greenhouse, so that the insulation effect will be better. If the conditions are not met, don't be afraid. We can find some film to cover it, but we must pay attention to the humidity inside. If we find that the humidity is too high, we must remove the film in time to let it ventilate and change the air to prevent its leaves from rotting.

4. Correctly handle frostbitten plants

In winter, some plants are bound to suffer from frost damage, and we will think that they are dead and then throw them away. In fact, this is wrong. If we find a frostbitten plant, we only need to clean up the dead leaves and branches and preserve the main stem. When the next spring comes, apply some fertilizer to it. It can still grow new branches and leaves quickly. Generally, after 1 to 2 years, it can grow into a new jade tree.
