How to plant plum blossom seeds

How to plant plum blossom seeds

1. Seed Collection and Processing

We should collect its seeds in June every year, because its fruits are ripe at this time. We can pick up the plum fruits that fall naturally and pile them in a cool place. The temperature during stacking should not exceed 15 to 30 degrees, and the thickness should be about 10 to 15 centimeters. And we must turn it over frequently during stacking. If it feels very hot when we touch it with our hands, we need to ventilate and turn it over in time to lower the temperature. After about half a month, its flesh will begin to rot, and then we can wash the fruit and take out the seeds. After taking out the seeds, we put them in a cool place to let the seeds dry as soon as possible, and then soak them in warm water before planting, and then store them in sand for 20 days before planting.

2. Sowing time

1. Autumn sowing

For sowing, we can choose to sow in autumn, the specific time is between the Beginning of Winter and the Light Snow. At this time, the seeds do not need to be processed and can be planted directly, and the germination rate is very high.

2. Spring sowing

In addition to planting in autumn, we can also plant in spring. The specific time is around the vernal equinox. If planting at this time, the seeds need to be processed slightly, because the seeds are not easy to germinate at this time, so we must artificially germinate them so that they can germinate well.

3. Operation method

After the bed surface is prepared, if the length of the bed is 1.6 meters, you can plant 6 rows. If the length of the bed is 1.5 meters, you can only plant 5 rows. When planting, keep the plant spacing at 3 cm. Cover the soil immediately after sowing with a soil thickness of 3 cm. After all the seeds have been planted and covered with soil, we need to rake them flat. In addition, if you are growing plum blossoms at home, you just need to plant them in pots. When planting, the plant spacing should be 3 cm, and only one seed needs to be planted. Then, cover it with soil to keep it moist. It won’t take long before the seeds will grow into seedlings.
