How to plant Zi Chi Nian Hua seeds

How to plant Zi Chi Nian Hua seeds

Preliminary preparation

Before the planting work begins, we need to make adequate preparations.

First of all, you need to adjust the temperature. The germination time and germination rate of the plant will change with the change of planting temperature. Adjusting the planting temperature can make the planting work more efficient.

The germination temperature of Zi Chi Nian Hua is 10℃~30℃, and the optimal germination temperature is 15℃~25℃. Adjusting the temperature to the optimal temperature before planting can allow the seeds to germinate better.

Then there are the containers for planting seeds. The container can be selected according to the actual situation. If conditions permit, a special sowing box can be used. In addition, other small flower pots and even plastic lunch boxes can also be used for sowing.

In addition, you should also prepare a small shovel for soil preparation and an unused toothpick for sowing.

Sowing method

The planting substrate needs to be disinfected before sowing.

There are many ways to do it. You can put it in the sun, stir-fry it in a frying pan, or heat it in a microwave. After disinfection, the substrate needs to be recovered and can only be used for sowing after it has completely cooled down.

Then put the cooled substrate into the prepared container, about 90% full.

Use a small shovel to level the soil surface, then use a sprinkler to water the substrate in the container until it is moist, preparing for sowing.

Next, we will start sowing seeds. Take out the seeds and place them on a clean table. Use a wet toothpick to pick up the seeds and place them one by one on the smoothed substrate. When planting, you should keep a good distance between the seeds; they should not be too close or too far apart. If the distance is too close, it will affect the growth of the plant behind, and if the distance is too far, it will affect the appearance.

Note that there is no need to cover the seeds with soil after sowing, because the seeds themselves are small and it is difficult for them to have enough strength to break through the soil.

Late seedling raising

Place the container with the seeds in a semi-shaded room with scattered light. The seeds must not be exposed to sunlight before the young shoots grow out, otherwise it will affect the germination process of the seeds.

Generally speaking, the seeds will germinate after 7 to 10 days, after which the light exposure can be gradually increased.
