How to plant lantern flower

How to plant lantern flower

1. Prepare materials

Scissors, flower pots, shovels, watering cans, rooting agents, and a healthy mother lantern flower

2. Cuttings

1. Take a well-growing branch from the mother plant and cut it between the second and third pairs of leaves from the top. The cut stem should be about five or six centimeters long and have two pairs of leaves. Cut off the two pairs of large leaves below and use a knife to cut two sections on the bottom of the stem.

2. Take out the rooting agent and insert the treated stems into it to soak them, allowing the cut surface to fully contact with the rooting agent. This will promote the growth of the roots of the stems.

3. Take a small pot, add nutrient soil and some compost, insert the stems that have just been processed, use a watering can to wet the soil for cultivation, and keep it moist. Do not pour water directly, as accumulated water will cause rot and the plant will not survive.

4. Move the pot to a sunny place to receive light, but avoid direct sunlight. It can be placed near a window, preferably on a sunny day.

3. Post-maintenance

1. After a period of time, stems that grow well will take root and grow leaves or branches. This means the roots are growing well and can be transplanted with a shovel.

2. When transplanting into a large pot, keep the original soil to avoid damaging its roots. The soil can be the same as used for the previous cuttings.

3. After transplanting, it should still be placed in a place with scattered light to avoid direct sunlight and keep the temperature at around 23°C. If the weather is mild, spray more water to replenish moisture. In winter, the temperature is low and spraying water once a day is enough. Move it indoors to maintain the temperature.

4. Pay attention to management. If some branches grow too vigorously, you can pinch them to facilitate the growth of more branches and leaves and a beautiful shape.
