How to fertilize cornstone

How to fertilize cornstone

The need for fertilizer

Corn stone does not need too much fertilizer to grow, and if the soil used to grow it is relatively fertile, then the demand for fertilizer at this time is minimal. Only when the soil in the pot is relatively poor, fertilizer is needed to supplement the nutrients needed for its growth process. Of course, if you want it to grow better, you can use fertilizer appropriately.

About the choice of fertilizer

You can choose ordinary fertilizers at ordinary times, but you cannot simply use ordinary nitrogen fertilizers. You also need to pay attention to the use of fertilizers containing phosphorus and potassium, and choose to use N, P, and K compound fertilizers when appropriate.

About fertilization methods

When cornstones are still young plants, use water-soluble fertilizer or liquid fertilizer and provide nutrients once or twice a month in the warm season.

Time of fertilization

Mature cornstones can generally be operated once a month from April to September each year. After October, they enter a dormant state. Generally, no fertilizer is needed at this stage, because the fertilizer in the soil in the pot is enough to meet the growth needs of the cornstones at this stage. However, if the corn stone begins to bloom, it needs more fertilizer at this stage, so increase the frequency of fertilization to supplement nutrients.

Tips

In fact, the symptoms of succulents lacking fertilizer are not common, but it is very common to see succulents being killed or injured due to excessive fertilizer. Therefore, you must not over-fertilize. Also, since liquid fertilizer contains a certain amount of water, you can be a little more restrained when watering. Otherwise, side effects similar to improper watering may occur. The growth of cornstone itself is relatively slow, so do not expect to accelerate its growth by adding nutrients.
