The reproduction method of broad-leaved red orchid

The reproduction method of broad-leaved red orchid

1. Division method

Time and objects of division: Basically, the methods of reproduction of many plants are actually similar, so broad-leaved red orchid is one of these many plants. The most commonly used method is division. This method can generally be carried out in spring and autumn, and division can usually be carried out every three years. As long as the plant grows well and has dense bulbs, it can be divided.

Before division: Before division, be sure to reduce the amount of watering and keep the soil in the pot slightly dry. This way, the survival rate will be very high when dividing.

After division: Each plant must have at least 5 pseudobulbs. In addition, when putting the plants in the pot, first cover the small holes under the pot with some broken tiles. Then put a small amount of stones on it, then add some coarse-grained soil, a small amount of fine soil, and finally plant it in some sandy soil containing humus.

Maintenance after division: Generally, the planting depth should just be into the soil, leaving a 2cm edge on the edge of the pot, and then spread some fine stones on it. Finally, water it thoroughly and place it in a cool place for 10 to 15 days. During this period, the soil must be kept moist. Then slowly reduce watering and carry out normal maintenance.

2. Sowing method

In addition to the above methods, you can also use the sowing method. We can find some fuller seeds, spread them evenly on the prepared sand bed, and then pour a little water on them. In this way, small sprouts will basically emerge in a few days. However, this method is less used. Basically, the division method is more commonly used, and the survival rate is relatively higher.
