How Bauhinia reproduces

How Bauhinia reproduces

Cutting propagation

If we are in the south, we can breed them at any time from April to autumn. If we want them to survive, it is best to do it in summer or autumn. If we are in the north, if we want to operate it, we need to do it in a greenhouse, usually between October and November.

Prepare two-year-old strong branches that are about 11 cm long after the lowest leaves are cut off. Contact the corresponding vitamin injection and then insert it into the sand. 80% humidity and 20-25℃, after about two weeks, we can see its growth. Transplant when the seedlings are rooted.

How to layer

This method can be used to propagate them any time they are growing well, but spring is better. Choose one-year-old branches, use special tools to peel off about 1.5 cm of bark, apply rooting powder diluted according to the instructions about three centimeters above the corresponding peeled part, and wait until the whole part is dry, then we need to use a cylindrical bag to cover the scored part, fill the bag with loose garden soil, and tie the two ends tightly after watering.

Wait for one month and check. If you find that the soil is too dry, you can add a certain amount of water to moisten it. This will be very useful after the Bauhinia seedlings take root and you can replant them. Since the outer part of shrub-type trees that can be trimmed is relatively thin and soft, the base of the regenerated branches can be incised after one or two years, and then coated with the corresponding rooting powder liquid, buried in the soil and pressed down. After that, we choose to use a stick-like tool to press down the top part.

Sowing its seeds

After collecting its ripe fruits, remove the seeds, place them in a cool place and bury them in sand. After sowing in spring, we need to process the seeds before sowing so that the roots and seedlings can grow strong. Put it in warm water at about 60 degrees. Replace the water when it cools down. Repeat the process for three to five days. Wait until the seeds swell and then germinate them at a suitable temperature.

Water with warm water once or twice a day, and sow seeds after the seeds turn white. We can see all the seedlings in about two weeks. We must know that this plant is not cold-resistant during the seedling stage, and when winter comes, it needs a warm environment to protect it through the winter.

After planting, we also need to prune the tree frequently for the sake of its appearance. When it is too long, we should straighten it in time. Young trees need to be pruned as a whole. Insecticides need to be used when there is an infestation.
