How to water tiger pineapple

How to water tiger pineapple

What water is needed?

The quality of water is very important for this kind of plant. If the water quality is poor, the plant will be unwilling to absorb it and naturally will not grow well. The water suitable for tiger pineapple should not contain salt. If the calcium and salt content is too high, the leaves will not be so bright, which may hinder photosynthesis. If it is not replaced in time, it will also cause root rot. The EC concentration must be controlled below 0.3, and the pH must be between 5.6-6.5.

How to absorb water

This kind of plant does not absorb water through its roots like ordinary plants. Their roots are relatively weak and can only absorb limited water, which mainly serves to fix them. So how do they absorb water? In fact, their water is mainly absorbed by the absorptive scales at the base of the leaves, and then stored in the leaf cup, which is formed by the bottom of the leaves. Therefore, as long as there is water in the leaf cup, the plant will not be in a state of water shortage.

Frequency of watering

In summer, this plant grows better and needs to be watered once in the leaf cup on the fifth day and once in the culture soil every half a month. Make sure there is water in the cup. After the plant goes dormant in winter, you can water the leaf cup once every half a month. As for the medium, there is no need to water it at all, because when it is dormant, the roots will almost stop absorbing water. If they come into contact with water, the roots may not be able to breathe, and even the entire roots may rot. Therefore, try not to water the culture soil in winter.

Okay, now you understand how to water this thing. If you think you have gained something, share it with other flower lovers, and we can all make progress together.
