How to pinch the heart of the goldfish plant

How to pinch the heart of the goldfish plant

Topping time

Usually it is carried out between May and June, but the individual time depends on the growth of the goldfish spider plant. Pinching should be done in the morning.

Pinching area

The top of each branch of the goldfish spider plant.

Topping method

Use scissors, preferably flower scissors designed for pruning plants, to cut off the top third of each new branch. After cutting, the leaves at the cut should be dealt with in time. They can be cleaned up directly, which will be beneficial to the growth of new buds. But when pinching, do not cut the main branches. After pinching, do not place it in the sun. Move it to a cool and ventilated place. Wait until there is no liquid left from the cut end, then move it to the sun. The same applies to watering and fertilizing. Wait until the cut end is dry.

Precautions

1. Pruning of side branches: Pinching will control the height of the goldfish spider plant, which will also speed up the growth of its side branches. Therefore, you must pay attention to it in daily maintenance, not letting the side branches grow too long, and also prune them appropriately.

2. Number of pinching: The number of pinching should be determined according to the growth of the goldfish spider plant, but all pinching actions should be stopped before the blooming period of the goldfish spider plant. The goldfish plant blooms several times a year, and the intervals between flowering periods are also different, so you must observe it more frequently in daily life before pinching it.
