Strelitzia reginae water requirements in winter

Strelitzia is afraid of drought and waterlogging, so water management should be moderate. Watering should be determined according to the season, plant growth and the actual dryness and wetness of the soil. Generally speaking, you need to water when the soil is dry and when it is wet. In summer, you need to water it sufficiently, but after late autumn, you need to reduce the amount of watering. In winter, you need to control watering to keep the soil in the pot dry.

Winter light requirements for Strelitzia

Strelitzia reginae likes light, but be careful to avoid direct sunlight. Except in summer, you need to give Strelitzia reginae sufficient light. If there is insufficient light, the plant will grow weak, bloom poorly or even not bloom.

Fertilizer requirements for Strelitzia reginae in winter

Strelitzia reginae likes fertilizer more. During the growth period, it needs to be fertilized with a thin cake fertilizer water every half a month. When the flower stalk is formed and it reaches the peak flowering period, 0.5% superphosphate can be added to the fertilizer solution to make the flowers bloom more brightly. If the water quality in the area is alkaline, you can add 0.2% ferrous sulfate solution when watering or fertilizing once a month to prevent the soil from becoming alkaline. Stop fertilizing after mid-October.
