How to Re-Bloom Phalaenopsis

How to Re-Bloom Phalaenopsis

Phalaenopsis temperature control

If you want Phalaenopsis to bloom again, you first need to control the temperature. Phalaenopsis prefers a warm growing environment. When growing Phalaenopsis, the suitable temperature during the day is between 25℃ and 28℃, and the temperature at night is between 18℃ and 20℃. However, the plant will stop growing when the temperature is high in summer and low in winter.

Generally speaking, the differentiation of Phalaenopsis flower buds does not require too high a temperature, and it is generally better to keep it at 16℃-18℃.

Phalaenopsis humidity control

Humidity is also very important when growing Phalaenopsis. Because Phalaenopsis does not have thick pseudobulbs and cannot store moisture, it has relatively high requirements for humidity.

When caring for Phalaenopsis seedlings, the humidity needs to be controlled above 50%, and during the growth period, the humidity needs to be controlled at 60%-80%. However, the humidity should not be too high, and ventilation can be increased.

Phalaenopsis water control

When watering Phalaenopsis, you need to follow the principle of watering when the soil is dry and watering when the soil is wet. In addition to watering according to seasonal changes, the watering time should also be different during different growth stages of the plant. When Phalaenopsis is a seedling, you should water it less, but when it blooms, you should water it more. Generally speaking, watering should be done in the evening in summer and in the morning in other seasons.

Phalaenopsis light control

When growing Phalaenopsis, you need to control the light. Phalaenopsis needs sufficient light when growing, but it should not burn the leaves. It can be shaded in summer. Generally speaking, in summer, shading can reach 60%-70%, in spring and autumn, shading is 30%-50%, and in winter, shading is basically not required.

Phalaenopsis ventilation

In order for Phalaenopsis to bloom better, ventilation must be good, because poor ventilation often leads to many diseases. Generally, ventilation is required when the temperature is above 28℃. At the beginning of winter, it is best to ventilate every day.
