How to reproduce white butterflies

How to reproduce white butterflies

Cutting propagation of white butterfly

The most common method of propagation for white butterflies is cuttings.

First of all, you need to choose a warm environment, and the potting soil should be a mixture of peat soil, garden soil and sandy soil.

Secondly, use the side buds that grow from the bottom of the vigorously growing plants. After the side buds grow leaves, cut them into cuttings about 10 cm long.

Finally, insert the cuttings into the soil with fine sand, keep the temperature above 25 degrees, and plant them in pots after new shoots grow.

For cutting propagation, fertilize once a week during the peak growing season from May to October. Avoid direct sunlight in summer, stop fertilizing and reduce watering in winter. If it grows quickly, you need to repot it.

The propagation of white butterfly by division

White butterflies grow quickly, so they need to be divided in April to help with reproduction.

When dividing the plants, choose a mixture of pond mud, compost and sand.

When dividing the plant, choose a pot that is about 10 cm deep. Fertilize the plant once every half a month during the growth period. You can use "Huiyou" high potassium nitrate fertilizer for all seasons to make the plant grow luxuriantly and have more branches.

In summer, it is necessary to pinch the tips of the plants, which not only helps them grow and replenish nutrients, but also ensures their beautiful appearance and improves their ornamental value.

In winter, when maintaining the plant indoors, do not make the soil too moist and reduce the amount of watering.

Tissue Culture Propagation of White Butterfly

White butterflies are propagated by tissue culture, using stem tops and side buds as explants.

First, disinfect the stem top, then inoculate it into MS medium containing 5 mg/L of 6-benzylaminopurine and 2 mg/L of indoleacetic acid to grow buds, and finally transplant it out of the medium and culture it on 1/2 MS medium containing 2 mg/L of indoleacetic acid to grow roots.
