Precautions for growing lilies in water

Precautions for growing lilies in water

1. Change water regularly

During water culture, we must first pay attention to regular water changes to ensure the water quality is clean. In spring and autumn, it usually needs to be changed every three to five days, and in summer when the temperature is good, it should be changed every two or three days. In winter, it can be extended to once a week. Also, please note that the water should be dried in the sun and not tap water.

2. Sufficient light

Lilies like light, so if grown in water, they should be placed in a well-lit area, but not in strong light. It needs to receive about six hours of diffuse light every day. Sufficient light time will make it grow more vigorously.

3. Suitable temperature

It likes a warm environment, and the most suitable temperature is usually between 15 and 25 degrees. If the environment is low temperature, the roots of the plants may be easily frozen. In addition, you should ventilate the plants more often to avoid diseases that affect growth.

4. Supplement nutrients

Lilies grown in water need to have nutrient solution added regularly to supplement nutrients. Because the nutrients in the water are limited, poor growth will occur if no nutrient solution is added. Usually three drops should be given per week. The specific amount should be added according to the instructions, but do not overdose.

5. Timely pruning

When grown in water, the rhizomes are soaked in water and are prone to rot. Therefore, it is necessary to take it out every two or three days and trim the rhizomes so that it can absorb water better and make the flowering period last longer.
