Why doesn't the water lily bloom at home?

Why doesn't the water lily bloom at home?

The lotus does not bloom because of insufficient light.

When growing water lilies at home, a very important issue is light, because water lilies are strong sun-loving plants and have relatively high requirements for light. They will bloom better under full sunlight conditions.

When growing water lilies at home, light exposure will be greatly limited. If it is not exposed to light for a long time, or the light exposure time is less than 6 hours, it will affect the flowering of the water lilies. Therefore, it is best to place the water lily on a balcony where it can get more sunlight.

The lotus does not bloom because of improper fertilization

Improper fertilization mainly refers to the use of a lot of nitrogen fertilizer in the early stage of the growth of the water lily, which causes the plant to grow vigorously and have relatively thick branches and leaves, but affects flowering.

When fertilizing the water lily, use nitrogen fertilizer in the early stage, but before it blooms, be sure to apply some phosphorus fertilizer or potassium fertilizer, which will help the differentiation of flower buds. Otherwise, the water lily will only grow lotus leaves but not flowers.

The lotus does not bloom because the soil in the pot is too dense

In fact, the soil in the pot is too dense because the pot is too small or there are too many lotus roots in it. When growing water lilies, you need to determine the number of lotus roots according to the size of the pot. If the pot is small, don't put too many lotus roots, otherwise the roots will be entangled in the soil, the stems of the water lilies will not be able to stretch, and the flower buds will be difficult to grow.

The lotus does not bloom because I bought fake seeds.

There is another situation that can cause the water lily to not bloom, and that is buying fake seeds. Some flower lovers use seeds to grow water lilies, but the seeds they buy may be fake seeds, so even if they are carefully cared for, they will not bloom.
