Treatment of black rot of Silent Night

Causes of Silent Night Black Rot

Black rot

Black rot often occurs in the crown and stem of the plant. The plant rots from the inside, the stem turns black, the leaves become watery, and the plant falls over.

Causes

Black rot is generally caused by excessive watering or excessive humidity in the breeding environment, and poor air permeability in the potting soil, leading to fungal infection. The fungus refers to Fusarium oxysporum. Once the plant is infected, if prevention and control measures are not timely, the disease will spread rapidly.

In addition, Fusarium often causes various disease symptoms in plants, such as root rot, stem rot, stem base rot, and flower rot. The most suitable temperature for the disease is 27°C to 32°C. The disease tends to be alleviated at 20°C, and the disease will no longer occur at temperatures below 15°C.

So in the summer, you should pay attention to whether your children at home will get sick at night!

Treatment of black rot in night

Beheading

Cut off the rotten parts until the stem of the plant shows its normal color, and then place it in a cool and ventilated place to dry the wound. The cut off heads can be used for branch insertion, and the broken off leaves can be used for leaf insertion. Please make full use of them.

Use of antiseptics

After the plant is cut off, you can apply fungicide for disinfection. Before cuttings, disinfect the culture soil with fungicide first, and then cut the plants. It is best to use dry soil for rooting.

Daily maintenance

In order to prevent black rot, the daily maintenance of the quiet night must pay attention to watering, the air permeability of the soil and the drainage of the flower pot. Especially in rainy and humid weather in summer, it is best not to let the quiet night be exposed to rain. In addition, it is necessary to avoid exposure to the sun in summer, provide appropriate shade, and pay attention to ventilation.
