Detailed explanation of the propagation method of the fishing willow

Propagation method of fishing bell willow: sowing

Sowing can be done when the temperature is 13-18℃, usually in autumn or early spring. The germination speed of the seeds of Diaozhongliu is relatively slow, and they are mostly sown in autumn. The seeds can be sown after harvesting. They will germinate when the temperature reaches above 18-21℃.

During the growing season, apply top dressing once every half month, either chicken manure or compound fertilizer.

It should be noted that seed propagation is more prone to variation, so many excellent varieties are generally not propagated by seeding. But what’s wrong with flower lovers liking it to grow in strange shapes? Just sow the seeds and grow it!

Propagation method of Pinus tabebuia: cuttings

Cutting propagation of Diaozhongliu is also often carried out in autumn, and usually only excellent varieties are propagated by cuttings. After the flowers of the willow of fishing bell fade, choose strong young branches and cut them into 10 cm long as cuttings. Disinfect the incision site and insert it into the substrate.

Maintain humidity and provide appropriate light protection, and it will take root in about a month. The rooted plants can be planted in pots. If planted in a flower bed, the plants can be removed from the pots in March or April of the second year after thawing.

Propagation method of Pinus serrulata: division

The division propagation of Salix babylonica is generally carried out in spring. After the mother plant sprouts new buds, the mother plant (with soil) should be dug out within a few days, and the new plants should be determined based on the sprouts. Use a knife to separate the new plants from the mother plant and plant them directly.

After planting, water thoroughly and the root system can quickly expand and grow into a considerable plant.

Among the three ways of propagating the Bellflower, the best is division. Because small buds tend to grow in groups at the base of the willow, you can prune them back a certain amount and leave only the healthy divisions for reproduction.
