Cultivation methods and precautions of chestnut trees

Cultivation methods and precautions of chestnut trees

1. Soil

Chestnut trees are suitable for cultivation in soils with deep, water-efficient and humus-rich soils. Because they do not like acidic or alkaline soils, neutral sandy loam is the best choice, which can provide them with many of their growth needs.

2. Water

It is a plant that requires a lot of water and should be watered frequently, about twice a week. Especially in autumn and winter, the plants have high water absorption and will be relatively dry. At this time, they should be watered twice more to avoid drought. Sufficient water supplementation is more beneficial to their development.

3. Nutrients

During its vigorous growth period and fruit development period, it has a great demand for fertilizer. Generally, nitrogen fertilizer and potassium fertilizer are selected to supplement its nutrients. Sufficient fertilizer supply can make it grow stronger and increase the yield and taste of the fruit.

4. Lighting

It likes strong sunlight during its growth period. Absorbing enough light can make the crown and branches grow stronger, so sufficient light absorption is more beneficial to its growth and development.
