Cattail cultivation methods and precautions

Cattail cultivation methods and precautions

1. Maintenance methods

1. Sunlight: Cattail grass prefers to grow in places with sufficient sunlight, so when caring for it, you can grow it on the balcony or in a place indoors where it can get sunlight.

2. Soil: It has low requirements on soil and can survive in deserts and fields. However, alkaline soil is not conducive to its growth. Slightly acidic soil and neutral soil are best. Limey soil is extremely harmful to cattail grass and is not conducive to its reproduction.

3. Fertilizer: Be sure to apply enough base fertilizer when planting. If the soil is already poor, the more fertilizer there is, the better the growth will be. It is recommended to use organic fertilizer as base fertilizer, such as cattle and sheep manure, pig manure, wood ash, etc. are all good choices. About 20 kg of organic fertilizer can be applied per 600 square meters to promote the rapid growth of branches and leaves.

4. Water: Make sure the soil is moist, as cattail grass has high requirements for water. Irrigate frequently to ensure that nutrients in the soil are fully absorbed. During the rainy season, waterways should be cleared in time to avoid blockage and sedimentation of water. During the peak growth period, weeds should be removed and the soil loosened in time.

2. Precautions

During its growth process, diseases and insect pests may occur. Once discovered, it must be removed immediately and sprayed with dichlorvos in time to allow it to grow more healthily.
