How to grow hybrid chrysanthemum

How to grow hybrid chrysanthemum

1. Soil

The cultivation of hybrid chrysanthemum is suitable for slightly acidic soil with good drainage. When cultivating, you can add some gypsum, phosphogypsum and other substances to the soil to lower the soil pH value, and place a small amount of charcoal at the bottom of the flowerpot to ensure smooth drainage.

2. Lighting

It likes sunlight very much and should be given enough sunlight and lighting all year round. If there is insufficient sunlight, it may cause problems such as withering flowers, few flower buds, and brittle stems.

3. Temperature

Its optimal growth temperature is not lower than 16 degrees Celsius and not higher than 25 degrees Celsius. Therefore, it is recommended to place it in a sunny place indoors in winter and ensure that the room temperature is not lower than 5 degrees Celsius.

4. Watering

It is a relatively drought-resistant plant type, so be sure to control the amount of watering when watering. Use a spray bottle to spray the stems and roots to moisten them. The frequency of watering should be kept at once every 4 to 6 days, and adjust according to the specific weather. Do not water too much to avoid root rot. In addition, when the temperature remains high in summer, the humidity of the surrounding air should not be too high.

5. Fertilization

In the spring, it is best to ensure additional fertilizer once every half a month or so, because its growth rate is very fast during this period, and it often blooms vigorously, so more fertilizer is needed.

6. Notes

When repotting, check whether the roots have rotted and whether the soil at the bottom of the pot is in good condition. Make appropriate adjustments to the soil, charcoal, gypsum and other ingredients in the flowerpot based on the problems that arise.
