The difference between morning glory and cup flower

The difference between morning glory and cup flower

1. Difference of blades

The cup flower is short and the whole plant is hairless. The leaves at the base are oblong, the leaves at the top are divided into three lobes, the middle lobe is oblong, and the side lobes are triangular in shape. Morning glory is completely different. It has short soft hairs and long stiff hairs on its stems, which can clearly distinguish it. The shape of the leaves is also completely different. Its leaves are oval or nearly round, and the leaf surface is also covered with soft hairs.

2. The difference between flowers

The pedicels of the flower are usually longer than the petioles. Bracts are broadly ovate and sepals are oblong. Its corolla is light pink or light purple and bell-shaped. Morning glory is different. Its pedicels vary in length, but most of them are shorter than the petioles. The bracts are also relatively long and linear. Sepals are lanceolate-linear. Its corolla is funnel-shaped, purple-red or bluish-purple in color, and the color of the corolla tube is relatively lighter.

3. Capsule Difference

The capsule of the Capsule is ovoid in shape, similar in length to the sepals, or sometimes slightly shorter. Its seeds are brown in color and have small warts on the surface. The capsule of morning glory is nearly spherical, and the seeds are dark brown or beige.
