Planting technology of Actinidia arguta

1. Site selection

Before planting soft-fleshed kiwifruit, choose a good site first. It is best to choose a semi-shaded and semi-sunny slope, preferably facing the east sun. Choose loose, well-drained, high-humus, slightly acidic or neutral soil. It is also necessary to consider the convenience of drainage and transportation, and carry out irrigation and drainage in a timely manner.

2. Planting Preparation

Before planting soft-fleshed kiwifruit, prepare the land first, dig a 25-30 cm deep trench, apply well-rotted animal manure as base fertilizer, and dig planting pits according to the size of the seedlings, with a width of about 30 cm and a depth of about 35 cm.

3. Purchase saplings

Buy and prepare the kiwifruit saplings in advance. You can go to a special flower market to buy them. Choose saplings with well-developed root systems and no diseases or pests. Such saplings can promote survival and growth, which is beneficial to their later growth.

4. Planting

Soft-fleshed kiwifruit is suitable for planting in spring and autumn. Add a small amount of soil to the tree pit, plant the soft-fleshed kiwifruit in the pit to encourage the root system to stretch out. The soil should be half the height of the seedling, gently tamp the soil, water it thoroughly, and cover the roots with soil. Most soft-fleshed kiwifruits are dioecious, so when planting them, you should pay attention to the configuration of pollination trees. The ratio of female to male plants should be 8:1.

5. Management and maintenance

Soft-fleshed kiwifruit requires good maintenance and management. As it grows, water and fertilizer should be applied regularly. It is also necessary to set up frames and prune branches in time, pay attention to inter-row cultivation and weeding, and prevent and control diseases and pests.
