1. Choose good varieties

There are many varieties of sunflowers. You can choose seeds according to your needs and local environment, and the requirement is good quality seeds. If you are growing it in a pot at home, you can choose a dwarfed ornamental sunflower variety. Select seeds that are of appropriate size and not shriveled, place them in the sun in advance, and soak them to germinate.

2. Sowing time

Sunflowers are suitable for sowing in mild climates. You can wait until the temperature remains around 20℃ for sowing. It is more appropriate to sow in early April in spring.

3. Seeding and Seedling Raising

Sunflowers can be grown in a special seedling box, the kind with a lid. Fill the box with nutrient soil, then sow the seeds evenly in the soil, water the soil thoroughly, and cover it with a lid to keep it warm and moist, thereby promoting germination.

4. Performing Transplantation

During the sunflower seedling stage, it is necessary to strengthen maintenance, keep it moist regularly, and remove other seedlings that are growing poorly. When the sunflower seedlings grow two cotyledons, they can be transplanted. Transplant the sunflower into a large pot, fill the pot with loose and breathable soil, dig a hole in the soil, plant the sunflower in the soil, and water it enough to allow the roots to take hold after transplanting, making sure to water it thoroughly.

5. Post-management

When the sunflower seedlings grow 3-4 true leaves, you can gradually increase the light, spray potassium dihydrogen hypophosphite every 3-4 days, and water regularly to maintain good soil moisture.
